In the fourth quarter of 2024, the free-to-play gaming landscape on iOS in South Africa showcased interesting trends across the top five applications, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Block Blast！ experienced a gradual increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 17.2K in the final week of December. The game's weekly revenue saw a slight rise towards the end of the quarter, reaching approximately $13. Weekly active users also climbed steadily, culminating at about 161K by the end of the year.

Betway - Sports Betting showed a notable spike in downloads in late October, reaching 17.2K. However, both downloads and active users declined steadily through December, closing the quarter with around 5.3K downloads and 40.5K active users.

Subway Surfers maintained a fairly consistent performance with weekly downloads gradually increasing to 6.2K at the end of December. Revenue fluctuated throughout the quarter, peaking at $712 during the last week of November. Active users saw a significant rise, reaching approximately 152K by the close of the quarter.

Township demonstrated a steady increase in both revenue and downloads. Revenue peaked at around $11.8K in the final week of December, while downloads surged to approximately 11.6K. Active users also grew, ending the quarter at about 45K.

Finally, Candy Crush Saga continued to perform well with a steady revenue stream, peaking at $30.5K in late December. Downloads increased towards the end of the quarter, reaching 6.1K, while active users remained relatively stable, closing at around 48.9K.
